Zero Tolerance for Ragging

At Sri Balaji University, Pune (SBUP), and particularly within the School of Actuarial Science, we are fully committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful campus environment for all students. In alignment with the directives of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and relevant statutory authorities, the university enforces a zero-tolerance policy toward ragging in any form.
Ragging—whether physical, verbal, emotional, or psychological—is strictly prohibited on campus, in hostels, classrooms, and all affiliated premises. Any student found engaging in such behavior will face strict disciplinary action, which may include suspension, expulsion, or legal proceedings, depending on the severity of the offense.

To promote awareness and prevent any instances of misconduct, the School of Actuarial Science conducts regular anti-ragging orientation sessions, awareness campaigns, and workshops. These initiatives are designed to educate students about the consequences of ragging and foster a culture of mutual respect, empathy, and ethical behavior.

The university also has a dedicated Anti-Ragging Committee and Anti-Ragging Squad in place, comprising faculty, administrative staff, and student representatives. This team ensures constant monitoring, swift intervention, and resolution of any reported grievances. Additionally, students have access to a confidential grievance redressal mechanism and professional counseling services for support and guidance.

We believe that every student has the right to pursue their education in an environment that is free from fear, harassment, and intimidation. Through proactive policies, continuous monitoring, and community engagement, SBUP and the School of Actuarial Science reaffirm their unwavering commitment to a harassment-free academic ecosystem that promotes dignity, diversity, and holistic development.
